Come learn how to save money while maximizing your pharmacy benefits. Medication costs can be daunting, but understanding your pharmacy benefits can make a huge impact on your wallet as well as your health.

Staying Active and Engaged in Rock Island County

Transitioning from employment to retirement is full of peaks and valleys. Join community agencies and groups to learn about the programs, services, classes, and clubs available to older adults to stay active and engaged.

Caregiver Help: Survival Guide & Journal
Location: Rock Island County Library: 401 19th St., Rock Island, IL
Presentation about the difficulties caregivers face, how to resolve complex caregiving issues, and maintaining physical and emotional health while caring for a loved one.

Medicare Open Enrollment: How to Save money
Location: Rock Island County Library: 401 19th St., Rock Island, IL
Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15, 2018. Join WIAAA’s certified Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counselors to explore how to make sure you are getting the most out of your Medicare plan for 2019. WIAAA will also be explaining the expected changes to Medicare in 2019.

WILLS & Power of attorney: The importance of planning ahead
Location: Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging—729 34th Ave. Rock Island, IL
Join Michelle Fitzsimmons, from Prairie State Legal Services, to learn about the importance of planning ahead. The presentation will cover the legal services provided by Prairie State Legal Services as well as the process and importance of establishing a Power of Attorney (Medical & Financial) and setting up a will.

Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging invites the public, community agencies, legislators, and especially older adults in Bureau, Henderson, Henry, Knox, LaSalle, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island and Warren counties in Western Illinois to attend one of the two Public Hearings we will hold on the proposed 2019 grant application to the Illinois Department on Aging to provide programs and services for older adults, their caregivers, grandparents raising grandchildren and adults with disabilities.
