Advocating for You

Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging advocates at the local, state and federal levels for older adults and for services we provide for adults with disabilities. Advocacy efforts overall goal is to support the policies, programs and services that allow older adults and adults with disabilities to maintain their independence and elevate their quality of life.  Here are the ways you can get involved:

  • Contact your local representatives and voice your support for policies, programs and services that impact older adults and their caregivers.  WIAAA also advocates for adults with disabilities for the services we offer. Use the Find My Elected Officials search to find your legislators.

  • Stay on top of advocacy alerts by visiting our website often for alerts by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (N4A) and/or Illinois Association of Area Agencies on Aging (I4A).

  • Find Advocacy tips and resources at The National Council on Aging.
